DESCRIPTION : (In Casper)
Perennis. Epiphytica in ramulis arborum et fruticum. Vivipara. Rhizoma simplex longum (+/- 10 mm) radicibus filiformibus adventitiis numerosis apice in discum adhaerentem ovalem vel suborbicularem +/- 1 mm diametro pilosum ampliatis. Folia numerosa (10 - 20) radicalia +/- dense rosulata subsessilia integerrima circuiti oblongo-spatulata rotundata margine parum revoluta superne glandulis sessilibus dense glandulis stipitatis disperse vestita (5) 7 - 12 (15) mm longa 1 - 3 mm lata. Hibernacula nulla. Pedicelli 1 - 3 erecti filiformes apicem versus angustati glandulis stipitatis disperse obsiti basin versus pilis longis villosis (15) 25 - 40 (58) mm alti uniflori. Flores parvi 8 - 15 mm longi (calcari incluso). Calyx bilabiatus extus glandulis stipitatis disperse obsitus; labium superum plane trilobum lobis late ovalibus rotundatis; labium inferum plane emarginatum ovale. Corolla subisoloba albida extus glandulis stipitatis disperse obsita; lobis subaequalibus (superis paulo minoribus) circuiti ovalibus rotundatis margine +/- undulatis inter se tegentibus paulo longioribus quam latis 3 - 6 mm longis 2.5 - 4 mm latis basi pilosis pilis cylindricis. Tubus cylindricus fauce infundibuliformiter dilatatus 4 - 6 mm longus 3 - 4 mm latus sine palato intus pilosus pilis cylindricis et pilis capitatis in lineis triabus ordinatis. Calcar saccatum obtusum brevissimum cum tubo angulum subrectum formans aeque longum ac latum (+/- 1 - 2 mm). Stamina +/- 1.5 mm longa; pollen (5) 6 (7) colporatum. Ovarium subglobosum +/- 1 mm diametro glandulis stipitatis disperse obsitum. Stigma bilabiatum; labium inferum flabelliforme; stipes placentae conspicue (+/- 0.8 mm) longus. Capsula subglobosa calyce erecto campanulato incluso; pericarpium fugax; placenta matura 0.5 mm diam. stipite +/- 1.5 mm longo. Semina scobiformia pauca (+/- 25) ellipsoideo-fusiformia laevia 0.5 - 0.8 mm longa 0.3 mm lata stipitibus +/- 2 mm longis plerumque irregulariter contorsis.

HABITAT:
Pinguicula lignicola is an epiphyte plant, growing upon bushes on high humidity area : according to the collected specimen overhanging a stream. The specimen collected from Revuelta de los Chinos and Pico de Toldo were growing on a stem of Pinus sp.
Altitude of Camp San Benito is mentioned in Casper publication as being 800m.
