LAKE OF TROUT or FORLET LAKE, FRANCE VOSGES, 1065m

Also named Forlet Lake. This is the highest lake in the Vosges area. You can then reach the top of the moutains around the lake (about 1 hour) following a hard trail. This area is called Gazon du Faing (1302m)
The landscape around the lake (1065m) is alpine.

View from the top of the crete over the Forlet Lake : this top area is called : Gazon de Faing. You can see the Hohneck mountain.

Two species of carnivorous plants can be found there : D. rotundifolia, localy very abundant and two populations of P. vulgaris with only few plants : around 100.

Pinguicula vulgaris in habitat. You can distinguish the hibernaculum in the center of the rosette. The temperature localy was 19°C. In the valley, the temperature was reaching 34°C !
